okay so i am finally writing in my blog again (enjoy, becky!:) so i have been up to alot lately, but at the same time, not too much! so, i am in Rexburg, going to school and comitting mroe than ever! thats right, be proud of me, i am comitting myself to things that will make me have a schedule. First off, i am doing adventure racing, which is kind of like triathlons but more 'adventurous'. We do mountain biking, running, swimming, paddling, climbing and other fun stuff, along with orientiering. I learned that i LOVE maps and compasses in NZ! haha JK. but what we do is with our team we have to run, paddle or mountain bike our way to different checkpoints using our orientiering skills. its pretty fun actually. and my team is cool too, so we will have a good time. but this means i have to go to practice with them often and comit to races...some on the weekends. I have kind of decided to try this lifestyle of schedules to see if i have some fun this summer. So maybe i WONT leave rexburg every single weekend to play on my own, and maybe i will still have fun. we will see. I am also volunteering with outdoor adventures, helping them lead trips like rafting, hiking, climbing, etc. So that should be fun. My classes are coming along, they are fun and i like the people in them. i am even coming to terms with eternal marriage class. By the way, my goal this summer (besides getting in shape) is to be positive in negative situations, or even when i dont get what i want. so help me out, call me out when i am a brat, kay? thanks guys.
anyways so this weekend, depite the disappointment of not going to zions, turned out to be really fun and relaxing. I went camping with sven, diane, and brian on friday night. it was really funny, because we went to sven's ward's campground/thing near Bone, Idaho, and there happened to be a father/sons campout going on, so we just hiked a little ways up into the woods and found our own clearing (this was at like 11:30 at night). after a FREEZING cold night, we woke up to shouts to get up or we would miss breakfast. we peeked out and realized the clearing we found was the breakfast area for the whole camp. we were RIGHT in the middle of it...HA...awkward...so diane and i stayed inside our bags to aviod any more awkwardness of girls at the boys campout, and brian and sven carried us up into the woods, and then proceeded to go and get breakfast for us from the ward. haha that was funny. good times though. then saturday we went climbing out at elephant rock, which is by HI-C (for those of you who know southeastern idaho). It was way fun, we had some good climbs and i got my roomate Macy up her very first climb! she was so scared but loved it afterwards. i love when poeple do things like that- you know, conquer fears, learn about themselves, etc. i guess i am trained to love that, being a rec major...anyhoo well i have to go get ready to go to devotional...i think i will start going again, i need some religion in my life. Well, that was a long update, thanks for hanging in there!! i will write more often, really!
