The art of avoiding

Well, the past two days i have been having some fun. Strange, considering the amount of homework i have. But for some reason i cant make myself sit down and do it! Oh well. So wednesday, we went climbing up to Heise Rock, and the guys were like, 'hey- have you lead before'? and i said no, not really. SO they thought i should, and i thought i should, so there was a climb they said was a 5.9, and i thought, well alright, i could do that. (the one we climbed on our little family climb was like, a 5.6, just to give you an idea). SO i climb it, and it is so scary, because i am like, 5 feet above the bolt, which means if i fall its a ten foot fall, and its a bulge, so its kind of overhang-y. ANd my arms are pumped out and i cant hold myself up. i am pannicking and and shaking, but somehow manage to clip in to the bolt. *whew*! well i lead the climb, not that well, because i kept having to rest on the rope and what not, but i got up it. wow. my first lead. but some to find out, i looked that climb up in the guidebook and it was a 5.10b! thats way harder than a 5.9, and would explain why i was scared out of my pants. but really, who leads a 5.10 on their first time? jeez. the nest day i went to paramount and lead a 5.8, which was much better- i wasnt scared really, so it weas more fun. i just need to keep on leading and get better! anyhoo thats what i have been up to. and now its saturday and i have procrastinated and have to spend all day doing lame lame homework. have a good easter weekend!!!
