a life of adventure

Well i just got back from Badger Creek ranch, where we had a colt/summit weekend. The BYU kids came up for it, and we had our adventure race. Last night we watched the Aron ralston story, about that guy who got stuck in a canyon in southern utah (blue john canyon) and a boulder fell on his arm and he had to cut his own arm off to get out. anyway its a pretty amazing story;inspiring. its crazy what you can do in situations where you have to do them.
Then today we had the adventure race. i wasnt sure if i would run because i had just done a marathon a week ago today, but i felt good and with everyone doing it, it was exciting and i couldnt pass it up. So, we got up this morning raced! It was a 12 mile bike, with this really cool/intense muddy hill in the middle that was fun, then we had to run about 5.2 miles, and then do the climbing wall and then run up to the lodge at the ranch. it was fun. Except we had to do skills along the way, like change a bike tire, do a compass reading, knot tying, and list off 'leave no trace' policies and 'the ten essentials'. that felt a little like i was at a boyscout jamboree or somthing, and i am not sure i liked it. But it was fun anyway. It was a small race enough race that you were always pushing to go fast, so it wasnt easy. But it was a good race. Then we ate lunch and came back here. I was so tired today i fell asleep from like, 5 until 7 pm. now i am really out of it. haha well thats my weekend so far. keep it real-
