Well, spring break is officially over. and officially one of my favorite trips. it was too short, thats all i have to say. We had lots of adventures and lots of fun. Thursday we rode porcupine rim, which was way fun- a bumpy bumpy ride of about 16 miles. Sven kept trying to go off all these drops and ledges, and the first one he did he leaned forward too much and flipped over the front of his bike and landed on his back in a mud puddle, which made me almost pee my pants. literally. it was so funny. his fancy new bike outfit (spandex biker shorts and fancy jersey- i know, rediculous) got allll muddy. it was a good time. Then we camped in a cool spot- echo canyon or somthing, i am not sure. but i was by these big cliffs and a river. and then after some more adventures, we did this canyon. we were searching all morning for info on it- like to find the trail head, and it was like, so elusive. finally we jsut went out in the direction we thought it would be. and after a while we stumbled uping this hige hole in the ground, going into this dark canyon, and found chains, so we rappelled down into it which was so amazing. one of the coolest rappels i have ever seen! then we hiked out and ended up on Morning Glory Arch, which we had to rappel down. But no chains, we had to set up our won anchors. and we didnt bring enough webbing. so after some creative brainstorming we figured out a way down. it was a little sketchy, but still fun. then we went back to town and i ate a good dinner this time for the marathon. Saturday morning, our alarms didnt go off and we missed the marathon shuttles, so we had to driver super fast to the start and try to catch the race start. which we barely made. we had like, 10 minutes to spare. pretty crazy. Then we ran it, which went pretty well, i didnt really have any problems. of course it got tough at the end, but this time, not until mile 22. then it was character building...haha. but i had some good running buddies and we made it in 4:18. which wasnt too bad i dont think for not even training well at all. it was a low budget race, so there wasnt anything really good at the finish for food. we drove to town, found a hot tub, and then ate a lot and slept in the park the rest of the afternoon. ahhh. and i am not too sore. i am sore but not as bad as i thought i would be. anyway, so then we drove to provo and watched conference on sunday and drove home sun. night. and now i have to go back to all the HW i have been avoiding and putting off and now its all piling up. YUCK. i hate homework, its so lame. in real life you dont have homework. grr. okay enough. now i need to get things done. i will post pictures probably later today or tomorrow of my trip. sorry this got long, but i didnt even tell the half of it. jsut the skeleton, no details! haha oh well. mare

Mare-Sounds like you had a total and utter blast! I'm so happy for you! I didn't get to get up and see Jenae or Gavin, which I'm bummed about, but I did pick up Scott and his friend Isaac. They were here for the weekend. Scott told me you're bringing a friend up with you when you come. He said it might be Becky...if so, that totally ROCKS! Aarick was there when he heard it, and the first thing he said was "dude, we can go tabeling!" But yeah, let me know more about that. Maybe I"ll call you today or something!
Loveyerguts,

hey Mare,
sounds like fun... all these marathons you do are really cool... i'm kinda jealous. I wish I could say that I've run a marathon. Only one poroblem, though, i hate running with a passion. i could bike a marathon... do you think that counts? Anyhoo, sounds like you got a good dose of nature, too... can't beat that. good luck on your homework.
