Well, you could say the past week has been one of rediculous adventures. So i will tell you them, since thats what i do on this blog.
Friday, i left for Seldovia, where we took a ferry from homer over, and we kayaked in the bay, hiked/explored the coast line, went for bike rides all over the area, and ate lots of grand food. Saturday we were supposed to come home, but the sea was rocking and being stormy. We actually started for home, and we got tossed by the sea (much like the life of one who is lost and confused...hehe), so even though i thought it was a grand adventure to be out there, the boat captain didnt. We had to turn back and dock in seldovia again. I few of us wanted to see Mandy Mckay, because she just got home, so we took a little plane back to homer. Sunday, we went to church and heard her homecoming talk, which was of course very good. then i worked on getting her used to normail life. I met a girl named rachel up here, who was backpacking around by herself, and told her to come with me, since she seemed pretty cool and about my age. Turns out she IS pretty cool. She came with us to seldovia and to church, and talked to the missionaries, and it went pretty well. We had some great discussion with her about faith and things, and she is a very cool person. She stayed with me and we went to Seward, where we hiked (with heidi and rachel and i) Mt. Marathon. That is the run that they do on the 4th of july. its this crazy steep, climb up to the top of a mountain and back down. I cant imagine running up it. i am sore from HIKING up it. It was so steep that we were literally climbing rocks and tree roots at points during the hike. Very pretty though, and lots of fun. I saw a black bear from about halfway up the mountain,(he was down below), so we were pretty loud for most of the hike, which made things more fun :). We camped in seward and the next day hiked a coastal trail called Caines Head. It was really pretty as well.
Then we went to mckays for dinner last night with more missionaries. Again, things went well. SHe wants to take her time, but has great questions and thoughts. SHe is a thinker. We are driving up to anchorage today to take rachel to the airport. Well, sorry this turned into a travelogue, but i got carried away with the adventures. Good times in the AK.

hi mary, I love the adventures. So when you say you took a little air plane was it expensive? To get pictures off your phone just go to the gallery on your phone and go into options and select "to pix place". Then it will do the "sending message" thing. The only annoying part is that you have to send them each individually. Then get on line and go to www.vzwpix.com create a user name and password and presto! You can organize into gallery's, send pictures, copy and print.

TELL MANDY HI!!! oh, and at first i thought your rediculous adventures were something that made them rediculous like something went wrong, or didnt work. sounds like a blast though!
hey i read this again and it hit me.. you were on a boat that was literally rockin! something i wish i could experience.
but last night i red on a combine as it harvested barley. i bet you've never done that before.
Who are you working for up there, again? My friend made some boats for a tourist company up in Alaska. So I was wondering what company you were up there for.
Hope to see you in September. I'm glad you're having a ball!
