Well, yesterday i went to targhee for the first time of the season. Not that is was my first day boarding this season, but the first up there. And this is just it- It doesnt feel like ski season has really and truly started until i take a ride up dreamcatcher, freezing and huddling in my coat with my lift buddy, end up on top of Fred's mountain, and glide through the amazing powder schutes that Targhee is known for. :)
SO yesterday, thats what i did. It was great snow, pretty good powder for early season, and some good buddies. I fell off a box and bruised my shins, i froze to death on the lifts, and i got a few face fulls of powder and some burninating quads. Ahhh the joys of the ski season. SO i say to one and all- WELCOME WINTER!

did you snowboard or tele ski? how did you fall off a box? are we talking about a card board kind of box? are you taking a snowboarding class up there next semester? and everybody really likes the name Jackson for a boy, including me and dan...so we are really going to ask you to reconsider that name. being as i HAVE a son coming and i need a good name! you can take OUR little boy to jackson hole.
wahoo powder!!! I really liked this post. It made me less bitter about having so scrape my windows this morning.

You are having entirely too much fun, it should be illegal to enjoy freezing your buttocks off like that, and still enjoy it that much.
It has been about 31-32F degrees here and almost feels balmy, the Alyeska is open and they had night skiing on sat. Straight up and down!!!Wheeeee.

Maybe you could call yours Teton, Targhee, Grizzly adams, peton, summit, quest, Rick(s), Telemarkson, Alyeska, Chugach, Denali, Homer (AK not Simpson), Kenai, Hali, King, Silver, Rudolph, Caribou, but NOT Dakota!!!
