Haitus

Sorry I have been gone for a little while. Only a week maybe, but feels like a while. As you may have heard, we had a little drama lately. Becky and I were rock climbing Friday night at Chuckawalla here in St. George, and there was an accident. Becky was rappelling down from the chains, but hooked into the rappel wrong. She only put one instead of two sides into her belay device. She ended up falling 40 feet to the ground. I looked up just in time to see her falling, scream and hit the ground, unconscious. I called 911, freaking out while some other climbers with WFR (thanks goodness) helped get her stable. We rode in an ambulance to the ER, which was cool, because the crowds of rush hour traffic literally parted for us. Then we got to the hospital and they figured out everything. She is okay, just broken up pretty good. I got to watch them put her dislocated shoulder back in, which was kind of disturbing, but something i have always wanted to witness.
Anyhoo, luckily, she had no really life threatening injuries, but it was sure scary. Broken collarbone, rotator cuff, some bones in her back, a coracoid bone, and lots of bruised organs, like spleen, liver, and kidneys and lungs. She is in the hospital still, which is where i spend most of my spare time, and everyone has been awesome. I am so luck to have family and friends who will drop everything to come and help. So thanks guys.
Anyway, thats the update for now. And just one more word- becky still wants to climb when she gets better.
Climb on...

man she's still in the hospital? I'm glad becky still wants to climb. After all, the accident happened rappelling, not climbing. Maybe she just shouldn't rappel anymore :) You are a good friend to spend most of your free time there. love your face

Oh my gosh! That is scary. What is it with your closest friends and thier falling while rock climbing? Becky, Sven...who's next in this crazy world? What's it gonna take to stop the madness? Please tell her I say hello and to get better soon. If I can, I'd find a way down there or something. Oh, and Millie is going back up to Utah from Arizona tomorrow and wants to stop in St. George. How can she get a hold of you?
