Well, I did it. I finally got a Bachelor's in RECREATION LEADERSHIP!
College has probably been, in my opinion, the favorite and most influential time of my life.
SO here's to the awkward freshman suffering from homesickness and living on wonderful, rainy Vashon Island, to snowboarding my winters away at Targhee, and endless adventures of roomates, to discovering a love for running, to frisbee games and hot springs, to navajo tacos and getting lost, to adventures in moab and new zealand, misadventures in california and provo; to living in crummy old houses and crowded apartments, to road trips and learning to climb, bike, and paddle my way through life, to thinking i know how my life will end up and learning i will never really know, to learning the power and effect of choices and decisions, to learning what will really matter in the end, and to finding myself in a life that i love and to finding my best friends.
Here's to you, college years :)
Since i could not be there with my class in celebration of this day of endings and beginnings, Maaret and I went to London and saw the theatre production of WICKED. It was pretty amazing. We ate at a cool little spanish restaurant and then ran around the square taking silly pictures, rode the tube all over town trying to find our way to the theatre, and then saw a fantastic show. And on the way home, a really drunk brittish guy insisted on sitting by us all the way to cambridge, which was, as always, entertaining :)
first stop: Cambridge. So many bikes here, i had to take a picture of the giant bike parking lot i longed to be a part of.
Here is us outside the Apollo Victoria Theater. SO excited!
We were at Kings Cross Station, and well, we found Platform 9 and 3/4. But, not being a witch, i couldnt get through, no matter how hard i tried.
anyhoo, successful night i would say. Enjoy!

I loved the tribute.. and I love your boots. I am on a hunt for those, but for now I will cowboy up with the ones I just got. Oh yeah official pooper scooper cowboy boots. I love you Mary and i will also give tribute to those college years where it all started with a girl pleaded to her mom to persuade her soon to be true best friend to go to vashon with her. Cheers... to you Mare. Cheers.
college is one of those things that just can't last forever... they always say that 60% of what you learn in college is OUTSIDE the classroom...I think that's true. Plus, it's the only time in life you can justify mooching off your parents and not getting a job (because you have to STUDY!) Here's to the good ol' days!
hahah that made me laugh about the lady thinking you were pointing at her. thats funny. congratulations on graduating college. it sounds like no one had more fun in college than you did.
Man! Wasn't college fun? Congrats to all the awesome achievements and all the new ones to come. You are awesome Mare - It's good to see you still having fun in england. Take care

Congrats Mare,
I'm so glad you didn't wait to go off to school in jan, that first yr, but rather decided to move on to Rick's that first fall and then to Vashon Is, and as they say, the rest is HISTORY.
Remember the poem, which is so oft quoted,.... I came to fork in the road and unsure of which way to go, I took the path less travelled and it made all the difference. We are glad you chose to go and not stay in NE, and do some little CC there, what a blessing.
love you dad--RWH
Congrats on graduating!!!!!!! Great celebrartion trip also. Glad to see you are living it up.
