hey all!!! another week, another adventure!! i am offically not a newbie in the mish anymore. hit my 9 month mark. nuts. had a few fun adventures this week. lets start with the fun stuff. WE SAW CONFERENCE this weekend!! wahoo!!! i ddint even care (well maybe a little) that it was only on spansih. and qeqchi. no english. but who cares, i will read it in the liahona. i got mas o menos what was talked about. it was great to just be there and feel the spirit. two days of prophets. we talk and preach of prophets and i was a little disappointed that hardly anyone came to see what they had to say. oh my area of little faith. we are working with them though. gotta say elder holland was my fave as usual. the way he testifies and teaches of the atonement is so powerful, i can just feel that he KNOWS christ. i hope one day to be able to have a n understanding like that.pretty powerful.
Got my new comp this week. she is pretty cool. a honduranian. and she is jsut what this area needed. after almost 5 months here i was getting a little tired and worn out and she brought some new life. she brings the spirit like a powerhouse and thats really nice. and she works hard and is just an example of what i need to step up and be. We went to visit a family that we taught only one time, invited them to pray and dropped off a book of mormon. we returned to see how things went, and the husband (yes they are MARRIED!!!) said he had a strange dream. so he told me that he saw me in his dream and i was telling him that this was the church of Christ and the only (yes ONLY) camino back to heaven. basically he dreamed what i had already told him in the first lesson, but it was cool. i asked him if he had prayed about our message and he said he had. i told him that his dream was an answer to his prayer that the things we taught were true and from God. and when i told him that, i felt that what i said was right. it was a really cool experience. i pray for more like that.
Oh, and more things, lets see. This week we were out running by the lake (yeah my new come is so far willing to run with me) and we heard this screeching and hollering, which i knew to be monkeys. they always gritar from the trees. so i got really excited because i wanted to see them really bad. so we kept running and found them!!! there were three monkeys swinging and playin in the treetops near the lake at the edge of the jungle,. it was really cool. then we got home that morning and knocked some coconuts down to drink and eat. and i shaved mine with the machete all by myself!!! it was a big moment. because i really suck at machete skills. Then, we were out helpnig a less active family and they have like 14 kids or something so we were helping the daughter make allt he tortiallas for the family. the thing is, tortillas are life here. they eat them for every meal of every day. and if you cant make them nice and round by hand, then you are just lame and they laugh at you. so finally, after nine months int he missions, i was just making these beautiful round and perfect tortillas !!! i was pretty happy!!!! so i am finally legit. they say here that once you can tortillar, you are fit to get married. well, there you go. hehehe. anyhoo i guess thats all i got for now.... i hope you are all having a great week, thanks for the emails and letters and have fun out there. remember the church is true and when you bear testimony of it, its just becomes truer!!!!!
LOVE YOU!!!!
