big gulps huh guys? welp, see ya later!

wow. i am leaving for new zealand tomorrow. thats crazy. I cant beleive how fast it came up. seems like just last week i was deciding on whether to go or not and then going to the meetings. and now i fly out TOMORROW! it still hasnt hit me yet. peopel keep asking if i'm excited and i am, but not like i should be i guess. i think its just because i have no idea what to expect. i feel very clueless and i am just going to go and see what happens. WHEW! we shall see. anyways, quick update of my week- went boarding some more, hung out with some buddies in idaho- that was a lot of fun. we went to jackson and ate the best continental breakfast! and dinner- they had soup! i know- amazing. and we got kicked out of the Best Western hot tub, which was a really nice one by the way! haha it was an adventure. boarding at Snow King also made me pretty happy to go to targhee! that plcae is amazing, i tell you what. i hope they dont do stupid expansions and just keep it a small local resort. The tetons best kept secret man! anyways today was great, storms brought loads of powder, and jenny, janessa, sven and I went and hit it up. good times! and then we said bye to everyone and came home to pack. Its wierd, when people hear you are leaving the country its all of a sudden more important to talk to you or say bye or keep in touch, as if i'll be there forever. its onyl 4 months! but it is weird, i think alot of our lives will change a LOT this year and so i sometimes feel like i am saying bye to an era. not that dramatic, but things will definitely be different when i get back and lots of my friends will be gone on missions, graduated, etc. its strange. anyway, i have to go to bed so i can get up early and go to the airport! i will write again in new zealand and tell you all about it!! (when ever i find the internet...) anyhoo wish me luck- in the words of scuttle (from little mermaid) " I'M OUT TO DISCOVER!" :)

I'm assuming that I'm not going to talk to you. . . so I will wish you a fatty "GOOD LUCK" via email since that's pretty much the only way to stay in touch. I can't check blogs (or update my own) once I leave, but I'll check it up until Feb 2, and leave you my address if you ever have a chance! Hope you guys (Sven, this goes for you too) have a SUPER time in New Zealand and get to know the 33 girls that are going on this trip (sven, the lone ranger, you better make sure you can keep them off of you). . . ha ha! OH! And one more thing-- about living in each wonderful moment of life:

"One of the most tragic things I know about human nature is that all of us tend to put off living. We are all dreaming of some magical rose garden over the horizon-instead of enjoying the roses blooming outside our windows today." Dale Carnegie

and my most favorite from the quotable John Muir:
"I only went out for a walk and finally concluded to stay out till sundown, for going out, I found, was really going in."

AHHH, THE ESSENCE of LIFE!!! Climb something, surf something and shear a sheep for me.
