hey all!!! well sorry its been a WHILE since i have updated my blog....and i am stilll trying to get the picture thing working- i have to find a computer that will let me load them on, etc....anyhoo its a big old mess with that situation. THe things i miss here are: my cell phone, a car, and unlimited internet access. i know i am so tied to technology in a way that i would NOT like to be, but hey- i'm human. anyhoo its been great down here- we do alot of rec stuff so thats pretty fun- we have done kayaking (which i LOVE, and by the way mom, i HAVE to take a kayak to school this summer....its a must) and white water is a BLAST!! i love it! also, we went surfing, and that was SOOOO fun! its much easier now that i have instructors who know what they are doing, its way easier than when i tried it in HB! so thats been fun. We went on an overnight backpacking trip (tramping they call it....sounds dodgy to me though...) and it was so fun!!! it was raining the whole first day and all night but it was fun!! and gorgeous!!! i learn to love the rain over and over again. and the scenery was great, we were walking thru this forrest with moss carpeting everything and palm-like ferns and green green everywhere, next to a river and across taht were these mountains that were greesn and foggy, it was sweet as. SO we camped in a rock bivy that was this HUGE rock overhang that we all slept under (well like 20 of us...) and it was fun. we hiked out the next day. it was a short and east trip but really fun. This week we have started all our classes and i am already feeling behind.....ahh i am not used to school anymore....homework, reading, yuck. but i like the discussions...alot of family, marraige and etc classes so they are interesting.....anyways this week we are sailing and then we go to Queenstown where they call it the 'adventure capitol of the world" and i am going BUNGEE JUMPING!!! ahhh i am so excited but scared out of my pants!! WE are doing it off this 440 foot platform suspended over a huge canyon....its pretty intense.....well i guess thats about all for now...just chillin in INvercargill, running and trying to keep up with life!! i love all your comments and updates and stuff like that!! i miss everyone so much! its strange how far away it seems...i think the distance makes it seem like i have been gone longer.....strange...but i would LOVE email!! write me at hal02014@byui.edu.....oh yeas my host family and roomate are great i love them to death!! we have a bluegrass jam last night where diane (a girl from the group, my buddy) and a few other people came and some of P&B's friends, and we have all these cool instruments and they all just played all night and had dinner and stuff, it was way fun!!! i love it! Diane is going to try and teach my the mandolin- i have never played anything, so we will see how that goes...haha well i better run....hope everyone is doing well, have fun in winter because its hot down here...the middle of summer! yahoo!!! oh and by the way- HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!!!

Hey mary, sounds like your doing good!! that hike sounds awesome, the bungee jumping 440 ft over a canyon, NOT my bag BABy. crazy !!!! we should be MOVING this week!! yahooo!!! Arizona City! that will be so wierd. i dont think any of it has sunk in though. when you get back run that marathon in arizona so we can come see you , since we wont be in salt lake for ya. maybe we could do a 5 or 10 k or something. Well talk to ya later. Have Fun! oh and GOOD LUCK with your music lessons...hahah!

yo mare. long time no blog. I love your updates. It's so cold here that I some times think it's cold everywhere and will be forever. It's encouraging to hear that you found an oasis of warmth. I wish I were there with you guys more than ever. A large part of why I wanted to stay here was because Sam was coming. We broke up yesterday. Yeah, so what was the point? I don't know. Anyways, that thing you said about the distance making it feel like you've been gone longer is true! That's weird! I feel like that with Angela too. Just because she's going to Cali I feel like a year and a half isn't that long. Well, my crazy friend, I must go to class now.
