Well, i guess i will post more pictures- we climbed symmetry spire on monday- great weather, except the crazy wind made it pretty cold at 10,000 feet. We started hiking at 5:30 am, and didnt get back to the cars til midnight. needless to say, my quads are still upset. Here is our day, starting with a visual of the goal, pictured below:
jo and I at the trailhead. Even at 5:30 am, we can still smile. bustin out the hardcore gear- thats right, cramp-ons, ice axes...Everest- here we come!
here we are, getting ready to start the first pitch. Me, Sven, and Brian Cobb
It got pretty cold up there on the 4th pitch. We took shelter from the billion mile an hour wind.
Aaaand I finally made it to the summit! Hoorah! too bad there are still hours of descent eh? By the way, thats the Grand Teton behind me.

Wow, Mare! Wahoo for you... looks like quite a climb. Good job.
that sway to cool marie i hope you invite me on one of this cool climbs id be up for that any time looked like you had fun
Mare,
I am very impressed, you got out and back, safely, I was a little worried (but I realize you are a professional) that the snow and ice would be too soft and might give way under the onslaught of the ice axes and cramp-ons. Love the pics of symmetry peak and the grand teton in them, looks cool, we have a couple mtns here, like the denali/mckinley peak, people climb it all the time, it goes to 20,300', and you may need 02 for that one, they have a base camp everyone needs to stay at for a few days to acclimate to the altitude to avoid the "sickness". Not a really hard climb tho.
Love dad--RWH

From waterfalls and swimsuits to snowpants and mountains... I wish I could have been with you guys. (I'm saying that like I was invited but had other obligation, since I'm confidant that I would have been if I wasn't working in the wilderness.)Good luck with the Marathon... I'm still training for Logan
