the heat of the summer has started. i now enter the house at night and jump in a cold shower just to avoid iminent death. and the heat and sun does not stop poeple from making hot drinks for us. there is on,e really gross, its just like, water mixed with ground up granules of corn or somthing, and yeha thats its. corn water., they like to give us hot corn water. yummmm.....
but, other than that, things are good. the ward is still struggling, so we have been trying to work with the members and strenghten them. i gave a talk yesterday on faith and how it requires action. hopefully that will sink in..hahah
but our recent converts, the familia Tiul Caal, is really great. the work here is Pilas. or chaabil. haha they are jsut GOLD . yesterday we got the see the dad and the two sons recive the aaronic preisthood. they are really excited. the dad, domingo, is really taking things seriously. he studied to be a catholic preist for 5 years, so he knows the bible really well, and then he was an alcolhlic, and now he is a mormon. and he has fallen in love with the doctrine and covenants, because we are studying it in sunday school. he doesnt have a triple, which just take forever to get up here in el elstor and polochic, so he is borrowing mine until we get him one. he says it is so cool because it explains things so well and the things in it are really applicable. he thinks really deeply about things, and is always sharing with us his `revelations´` that he writes down when he studies. GOLD! he actaully reminds me a lot of dad. really funny and entertaining, but really intellectual and into the scriptures. i just love seeing this family grow in the gospel. if i never find another family like this in guate, i will leave happy, just for them. hopefully they will be able to go to the temple in a year, that would be jan, the month i go home. and i am PRAYING for you guys to be able to come to guatemala and pick me up, because then maybe you could meet them and see them go through the temple. pray for them to make it by then. and for you to make it by then. yeah? missionary work is so exciting sometimes.! and frustratiing sometimes. yesterday was also frustraing. but we will not focus on that!!!! just know that things down here are great, i cannot believe its already the middle of feb!!! can you believe i almost have 8 mothns in the mission! time is now oficially flying. anyhoo time is up, i love you all!! hope you have a great valentines day!
well, i better run. oh, we had changes, and i am here in el elstor another 6 weeks with same come. we are happy. and blessed!!
