one more week, and of course internet problems!!! WAHOO!! we came this morning to do internet, and i was lcukily only 2 lines into my letter when the power went out. and of course, no generators. so, we had to wait a few hours. anyhoo, it was great to get all your letters and hear all thats going on!! thanks for the updates. i am pretty happy today. we had a good week. well it was rough until sunday. sunday we had a great fast sunday, with our investigators in church and loving it, 105 people! and good classes, everything. i was happy. then we went on divisions and i got to go into my favorite area, called barrio nuevo, and its at the foot of the mountains, so we got to do a tiny bit of hiking. we had lots of success, contacted lots and taught a few really good lessons. and my comp had success too. One of our investigators decided she was finally ready to be baptized, after forEVER always visiting and working with her. only she has to get married to her husband first. but where theres a will (finally) theres a way!ยช and then in the night we went to a couple that we have been teaching, they went to church yesterday and they liked it. they said they also want to be baptized!! another family!! whaoo!! so if all goes as planned and the stars alight, we will have two weddings and three baptisms this month! so i was in a pretty good mood when we got home last night.
Also, today i complete 8 months in the mission! nuts eh? back in months 3, 4, 5 it was crawling, but since reaching el estor i feel the time slipping by pretty rapidly. maybe its the pressure of having so much more to do. our area is a lot bigger than it was in the cap, and we are working on learning languages and have more challenges with the branch, so there is always a lot of work. and i think that helps the time to fly. anyhoo, eitehr way, 10 more months is not a lot of time to do all the things i feel that i need to.
i am about to finsish john in the new testament, and them hopefully i can get through the rest. i want to read all the standard works, and i feel like there is just not enough time o t really study them the way i want to. but the book jesus the christ is really really amazing. Talmadge was super inspired when he wrote it. i love all the insight it has into the Savior and his ministry and purpose. wow i love this gospel. keep working hard, family! anyhoo, i think thats about all i have for now. things are going well, i still love the mission, things are still always hard, but i guess thats how we know we are still growing and getting better. my goal this week is to be a missionary the lord can trust with his work.
i miss you all!!!
love mary
